The plight of a visually-impaired elderly woman at Mardarajpur village in Balasore brought a lump to Odisha Governor Raghubar Das’ throat on Friday.
As per reports, a woman with the baby had gone to the Soro Hospital to obtain a death certificate for one of her relatives. However, she somehow lost her baby while she was at the hospital.

A one-sided love affair turned bloody after a youth allegedly slit the throat of a girl at Buanla village under Sadar block of Balasore district on Tuesday.
Five criminals, who hail from different areas of Haryana, have been arrested from Bhubaneswar while one more accused is still absconding, informed Balasore SP, Sagarika Nath.

The wife of Simulia block development officer (BDO) Biswaranjan Mohanty, whose body was found hanging in his government quarters on January 11, has been inconsistent with her statements.
Police rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter. The body was recovered by the police and sent for post-mortem.
