Kendrapada’s historic Baladevjew Temple is poised for a significant makeover, with the Odisha government accelerating plans for a comprehensive Parikrama Project around the shrine. A high-level review meeting was held on Sunday to finalise the project’s blueprint.

Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan chaired the high-level review meeting, which was attended by Kendrapada MP and BJP National Vice-President Baijayant Panda, district Collector, Sub-Collector, Endowment Commissioner, and other senior officials.

Discussions centred on the detailed layout of the Parikrama Project, including beautification works and essential infrastructural upgrades. The Minister stated that all necessary ancillary arrangements would be implemented to enhance the temple’s surroundings and improve the pilgrim experience.

“We are committed to undertaking every required measure, from beautification to supporting facilities, to give Baladevjew Temple a new and improved landscape, Harichandan said.

“Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda wanted to review the planned Parikrama Project and other developmental works of the Baladevjew shrine. A detailed presentation was made, and he has shared his suggestions. The beautification work will begin soon, and all necessary steps will be taken to develop it into a prominent heritage site,” Harichandan said.

“The project cost will be finalised once the DPR is completed. However, the estimated value is expected to be around Rs 100 crore. We are hopeful that work will begin within this financial year,” he added.

Mahakalapada MLA Durga Prasan Nayak said, “A detailed review of the beautification project was made today in the presence of MP Baijayant Panda and the Works department Minister. The work will begin soon.”
