Bhubaneswar: Trouble further mounted for Ollywood actor, Papu Pom Pom as the Odisha unit of Bajrang Dal on Thursday demanded a ban on his upcoming movie 'Mr. Kanhaiya' which has already landed in controversy for its poster.

Addressing a press conference here today, Manas Mohanty, president of Odisha Bajrang Dal along with other members of the forum alleged that despite going to jail, Papu is not refraining himself from disrespecting women.

"Papu Pom Pom was behind bars and though he is out on bail, he continues to disrespect women. His upcoming film Mr. Kanhaiya is in very bad taste. We condemn the movie and demand a ban on its release," said Mohanty while speaking to the reporters.

In a poster purportedly to be that of his upcoming movie 'Mr. Kanhaiya,' Papu was seen holding seven girls on leash with a rope tied to their necks. Such a depiction was condemned by several cine critics and other social activists in the State.

Social activist, Linkan Subudhi had filed a written complaint at Mahila Police Station in Bhubaneswar, demanding action against the actor, producer and director of the movie. However, Ramesh Rout, the director of the film had clarified that the poster was not the official poster of the movie and some fans must have released it.
