Bail plea of Seashore CMD rejected

Bhubaneswar: The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court in Koraput on Tuesday rejected the bail petition of Seashore Group CMD Prashant Das and sent him to judicial custody.

Hearing an advanced petition filed by lawyer of Dash, the court also directed the investigating officials to submit the case diary by June 27.

Yesterday, the court could not take up the bail application as lawyers boycotted all court activities protesting against alleged misconduct of police.

In a related development, three new cases have been lodged against Dash and his company in Jeypore, Nabrangpur and Koraput police stations.

Dash, who was arrested from Mumbai few days back on charges of duping investors to the tune of Rs 50 crore in Semiliguda of Koraput, was produced before the court on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) officials of Crime Branch on Monday seized two prints of an upcoming Odia movie, Matira Bandhan, in which Dash had reportedly invested around Rs 1 crore.
