Bahuda Yatra Concludes As Chariots Of Holy Trinity Reach Abode

Puri: Lakhs of devotees from across the country and abroad converged in Puri to witness ‘Bahuda Yatra’ – the homecoming of the Holy Trinity from Gundicha Temple to Srimandir on their chariots today. According to mythology, on this auspicious day the three sibling deities – Lord Balabhadra, Lord Jagannath and Devi Subhadra wrap up their annual nine-day sojourn to Sri Gundicha Temple, their birth place and return to Srimandir riding their three majestic wooden chariots.

Laxminarayan Bheta, the special occasion on Bahuda Yatra when Goddess Laxmi welcomes Lord Jagannath upon his return to Srimandir after a nine-day sojourn to Mausi Maa temple.

Servitors offer ‘Poda Pitha’ to Lord Jagannath during his return journey to Srimandir.

Very similar to the Rath Yatra, the return journey of the Holy Trinity also began hours ahead of schedule.
