Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly was today adjourned amid pandemonium till 12 noon and again till 3 pm as both opposition and ruling party members stalled the proceedings and obstructed Speaker to run question hour.
 
Soon after the House assembled, leader of the House and CM Naveen Patnaik moved condolence motion for former minister Ainthu Sahu who died yesterday. Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh and BJP’s KV Singhdeo supported the motion as a mark of respect for the departed soul. The House also observed one-minute silent prayer for the late leader.
 
After obituary reference, Speaker Pradip Amat, who received an adjournment motion notice of the Opposition on Bhushan steel mishap for discussion, started proceeding. The Congress members rushed to the well with the placards mentioning about Bhushan steel mishap. Similarly, the BJD legislators shouted slogans against central apathy.
 
Unable to run the House, the Speaker, after transacting business for around two minutes, was forced to adjourn the Assembly twice.
