ASI to start repair work of Jagamohan Chakra

Bhubaneswar: After its inspection of the Shri Jagannath Temple for third time, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) team on Friday said it would start repair work of the Jagamohan Chakra.
AK Patel, Supertending  Archaeologist, ASI, said, “Looking at the condition of the Chkra we have decided to start repair work of Jagamohan Chakra as soon as possible.” Initially the deplastering work will be done as part of the repair work, Patel added.
But, the ASI team did not mention exactly when the work will be started.
On the other hand, retired ASI official Prof RK Sharma said, “There is nothing much to worry about as these problems are because of plaster failure.”

Patel along with a number of experts climbed atop the structure and examined the conditions of Jagamohan Chakra and the Kalash, said sources.
