Puri: Members of the ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) today inspected Puri Srimandir's 'Garbhagriha' during which the first floor, second floor, ground floor, wall, ceiling, and steel crosses were thoroughly checked.

According to sources, the Jagamohan was also inspected and the repair works of Bhoga Mandap floor, temple kitchen floor and walls will begin tomorrow and expected to be completed in 8-9 days.

The repair work for 'Jay-Vijay Dwar' and 'Garuda Stambha' will also begin tomorrow. ASI is expected to finish all the repair work within 9 days of the Sri Gundicha Yatra.

ASI core committee chairman NC Pal said that the upper part of the Jay-Vijay Dwar is weak.

“In 7 days we will try to complete two most important works which are repair of Jay Vijay Dwar and improvement of exhaust ventilation system of Garbhagriha,” Pal said.

SJTA administrator (rituals), Pradip Das said “Repair work of Jagmohan has already started and it will continue.”

During today's inspection, members of ASI core committee and experts were present.
