Parlakhemundi: The Gajapati district and sessions court today rejected bail application of naxal leader Arati Majhi in two cases. However, the district and sessions judge gave an order to continue hearing on six other cases against Arati Majhi. Top naxal leader and Secretary of the Odisha State Organising Committee of the CPI(Maoist) and mastermind behind the abduction of Italian national Paolo Bosusco, had demanded the release of Arati Majhi to facilitate the release of the Italian tour operator. Apart from the eight cases in the Gajapati district and sessions court, four other cases were pending against Arati Majhi in the First Class Judicial Magistrate court in R Udayagiri. However, the legal counsel of the Maoist leader Upendra Nayak said that she would move the High Court to seek justice from the higher court.
