Berhampur: In a major drive against tobacco, Ganjam district administration has decided to strictly enforce the prohibition on sale of tobacco products within 100-metre radius of educational institutions.

The administration has asked the institutes to put up signboards with the message in bold along with the penalty of upto Rs 200 at their gates, a senior official said on Monday.

"The whole exercise is part of our campaign to free the district of smokers and to keep children and young students away from tobacco products," Additional District Magistrate Nirmal Mishra said.
