Bhubaneswar: Odia girl, Subhasmita Mohanty grabbed  gold medal in the 63-kilogramme category in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship being held at Cape Town in South Africa.

Subhasmita lifted a total 132 kg to clinch the top slot. She is an inmate of the Bhubaneswar Sports Hostel. Golden girl Subhasmita is the fourth Odia and the third girl participant, to bring laurels for the state in the Commonwealth Championship.The other two Odia girls were Meenati Das and Pramila Kirsani. Achyutananda Sahu was the lone boy to get a gold medal in the championship.
