Anganwadi centres supplied 'sub-standard' Chhatua in Puri

Puri: Anganwadi workers and helpers in Kakatpur area of Puri district have alleged that the 'Chhatua' (supplementary nutrition) provided to Anganwadi Centres are of poor quality. As per reports, two organizations are supplying Chhatua to various Anganwadi centres in the area.

In presence of the BDO, CDPO, Supply Inspector and Health officer, samples of Chhatua have been collected from the concerned suppliers and various Anganwadi Centres for inspection, informed sources.

Acting on the tip-off, the District Information Officer, Sibanand Sathpathy had sent an RTI query to look into the matter.

Sathpathy further informed that the collected samples will be sent to the Central Laboratory and the matter will be then taken to the court.
