Titlagrh: A special squad of district police has arrested 22 labour contractors from Andhra Pradesh from several lodges in Kantabanjhi who were active in Bolangir district in collecting dadan workers to serve in the neighbouring state. The police too has arrested two lodge owners and another associate of a labour contractor. The special squad had been maintaining strict vigil on the modus operandi of the gang quite for some time now.

The labour contractors have valid licenses from the labour department of Andhra Pradesh. But they had no valid permission from the Odisha government to collect labourers from the state. The labourers have been sent on judicial remand after the court rejected their bail applications.
