Amit Shah to visit Odisha tomorrow, packed schedule across cities

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is rescheduled to visit Odisha tomorrow (March 6) for a series of high-profile engagements across the State, official sources said on Thursday.

Minister Shah will first attend the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) foundation day programme at Mundali in Cuttack, where he is to participate in official celebrations.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister will travel to Jatni to lay the foundation stone for the campus of National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL). He will also virtually inaugurate the NFSU transit campus during the programme. The projects are expected to strengthen forensic education and investigation infrastructure in the region.

Later in the day, Shah will head to Paradip to inaugurate a sulphuric acid plant, marking a significant development in the industrial sector. In the evening, the Union Minister is to inaugurate an exhibition at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar.

The visit is being seen as significant both administratively and politically, as it combines security, education, industrial and public outreach programmes within a single day.

“Tomorrow, the Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation (Amit Shah) will be visiting Bhubaneswar. According to his itinerary, in the morning, he will participate as the Chief Guest in the CISF Raising Day Parade. After that, he will lay the foundation stone for the NFSU campus from there. From there, he has a program to visit Paradip, where he will inaugurate a plant,” Odisha Director General of Police (DGP), Y.B Khurania, said.

“After returning from there, he will inaugurate the exhibition of our new judicial code. We are very grateful that the Union Home Minister has taken the time for the exhibition organised by Odisha Police, and tomorrow we will all be present there,” the DGP added.
