In view of the Diwali celebrations, the 'Ama Bus' service operated by the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) will not operate on any route from 3 PM on Monday. However, the helpline service will remain active.

“The helpline service will remain active for the convenience of the passengers,” CRUT said. However, the 'Ama Bus' service will resume normal operations from October 21.

Taking to X handle, CRUT shared, “On the occasion of Deepavali Ama Bus Service will be available till 3 PM on 20.10.2025 in all the operational cities. Helpline service will also be available till 3 PM on 20.10.2025.Regular service will resume on 21.10.2025. Wishing everyone a Happy Diwali!”

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Cuttack Police have announced time restrictions on bursting firecrackers ahead of Diwali celebrations, allowing it only between 7 pm and 9 pm, in line with similar guidelines in Bhubaneswar.

The Commissionerate Police has warned that strict action will be taken against violators and urged citizens to celebrate responsibly, adhering to safety norms and designated time limits to prevent accidents and fire hazards.

On the other hand, schools will remain closed for two days both on Oct 20 & 21 after Odisha government declared two-day holidays for the festival of lights.
