An all-party meeting will be held on Monday ahead of the commencement of the Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday.
The Speaker of the Assembly has convened the meeting at 11:30 am on the Odisha Assembly premises to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the session. During the meeting, the Speaker is expected to seek cooperation from both the ruling party and the Opposition. The agenda and business schedule for the upcoming session are likely to be discussed.
Budget Session Schedule
The Budget Session will be conducted in two phases from February 17 to April 8, with a total of 28 working days. The session will commence with the Governor’s address to the House.
On February 20, Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mohan Majhi will present the State Budget for the 2026–27 financial year. Following the Budget presentation, the House will take up discussions on the demands for grants of various departments.
Parties Gear Up for Session
Meanwhile, the Opposition BJD and Congress are scheduled to hold separate legislature party meetings to formulate their strategy for the session. Sources indicate that the Opposition is likely to raise issues such as paddy procurement and the Mahanadi river dispute, among others.

The ruling BJP is also expected to hold internal meetings to strategise and respond to the Opposition during the Budget Session.
