Bhubaneswar: The State government on Tuesday said it would cover all 314 blocks under the Odisha Rural Livelihood Mission (ORLM) over next five years.

During question hour in the Assembly Panchayati Raj minister Kalpataru Das said, "At least one person from each BPL family across the state would be included in the mission."

 
So far this mission included 21,000 Self Help Groups (SHGs), which have been financially assisted Rs 15,000 each, stated the minister.

In the financial year 2013-14, the state government has a planned expenditure of Rs 763.85 crore for the project, the minister informed the House.

Das said, for project implementation the state government has so far received Rs 90.36 crore from the Centre and allocated Rs 30.12 crore from the state exchequer.

On the other hand, reacting on the minister’s statement Congress MLA Prafulla Majhi said, "The state government is claiming National Rural Labour Mission as their own project."
