Album actress death: Burla Police takes husband on 2-day remand
Sambalpur: Burla Police today took Dhrubraj Suna, the husband of Sambalpuri album actress Simran, who was found dead on January 4; on a 2-day remand.
According to sources, police will be interrogating Dhrubraj at Sambalpur jail to elicit more details regarding Simran and the circumstances which led to her death.
Sambalpur Additional SP, Pradeep Mahapatra said “The Burla Police had sought remand which was later allowed by the court. Dhrubraj will be further interrogated and action will be taken accordingly.”
The Jharsuguda Police had registered a case of unnatural death after the mutilated body of Simran was found under Mahanadi River Bridge near Goira Matha in Sambalpur on January 4. Later on January 10, the Burla Police in Sambalpur registered a murder case based on the complaint filed by the father of the deceased.
As per allegations filed by the father of the deceased, Simran was being tortured by her husband and in-laws. A case was also lodged in this connection in Jharsuguda Police Station, family members had alleged. Simran had tied the nuptial knot with Dhrubraj Suna, a youth from Belpada in Bolangir in April last year against the wish of her family members.
