Cuttack: Ailing BJD MLA and former minister Kalindi Behera was shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, on Tuesday a day after being admitted at the SCB Medical College Hospital here.

"Having multiple health complications, Behera had undergone bypass surgery ten years ago. He has a long history of diabetics and kidney problems," medicine specialist Sidhhart Das said.

Behera was shifted to the New Delhi hospital after his condition stabilised.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had met the ailing MLA of Cuttack Sadar at the hospital.
