Bhubaneswar: Agro-entrepreneurs, investors, central organizations, corporate bodies and at least 1000 farmers from across the country will be gathering under one roof at the two day Agri Vikas 2018 event that is all set to begin today to showcase the potential of the agriculture and allied sector.

The mega event, supported by the National Institute of Agriculture Marketing (NIAM) and KPMG as knowledge partners, is being organized in the country for the first time and will be held in the Siksha O Anusandhan campus here.

The event is intended to serve as a platform to enhance trade in agricultural services and develop synergies between competitive players of the agricultural sector in the Indian market.

The event would be attended by representatives of six ministries of the central government including the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Food Processing, Ministry of Commerce, Industries and Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (P&G) and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Union minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Gajendra Singh Sekhawat, Union minister of state for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Giriraj Singh, Union minister of state for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises besides Surya Narayan Patro, Odisha’s minister for Cooperation, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare would grace the even, informed organisers.

Government agencies and other organizations including TRIFED, NAFED, NCDC and Agriculture Skill Council would exhibit methods to address problems in agriculture for the participants. Around 150 stalls would be set up for the purpose.
