Bhubaneswar: Vowing to continue their protests, teachers, lecturers and employees of block grant schools and colleges resumed duty today wearing black badges.

After their 40-day long cease-work, the teachers have decided to continue their stir wearing black badges while resuming their work.

While most agitating block teachers have returned to work; according to the decision of the Odisha School College Teachers and Employees’ United Forum, some teachers are still camping at lower PMG to keep their protests going. The teachers from various districts will take turns to camp at Lower PMG and continue the agitation.

“I congratulate the agitating teachers for resuming their work. The State government has decided to waive off the block grant system and discussions regarding the new demands are underway,” informed Higher Education minister, Anant Das.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held by the forum in Bhubaneswar where intellectuals were invited to give their views regarding the rights of the agitating teachers.

On the other hand the agitating teachers have threatened to return to strike if their demands are not fulfilled by October 9, 2018.
