Paradip: The manager of a contractual agency engaged for maintenance works in IOCL refinery in Paradip has accused Jamihara Krushak Ekta Manch of issuing threats.

The complainant, Debashish Khatua, Manager of Prabha Engineering Private Limited alleged that he was threatened by the members of the outfit who demanded employment for 35 persons and a payment of Rs 10 lakh.

"A person named Prakash Tripathi claiming to be the union leader has been threatening me for the last 2 months. He asked me to recruit 35 persons," Debashish Khatua, said.

On the other hand, advisor of Jamihara Krushak Ekta Manch Prakash Tripathi refuted the allegations levelled by the manager of the agency.

"Using musclemen, the company is recruiting people. When we asked them to recruit our people he refused. He has lodged a false complaint against us. If he doesn't give employment to our people we will stage protest," Tripathi said.

The farmers' outfit has now said that they will decide their next course of action on December 28. Earlier, it was decided that recruitment will be done based on a meeting between the administration and company officials.
