Bhubaneswar: Remember the youth, who recently created ruckus at the mehndi ceremony of a girl that he claimed to be his wife? The same youth on Tuesday landed in soup again for trying to meet the girl, whom he says to be his legally-wedded wife.

Based on a complaint, Nayapalli Police picked the youth, identified as Rakesh Barik, from in front of the girl’s house. However, Barik was later released after he submitted a written undertaking that he will no longer visit the girl’s house.

Barik claimed that as he had married the girl in court in 2013, he will take legal recourse to meet his wife.

It is pertinent to mention here that Barik allegedly came to know about the mehndi ceremony of the girl and dropped in at her house with some court documents and photo albums as proof of their marriage. Following the incident, the girl’s mehndi was called off.

“The girl’s family today lodged false complaint that I threatened them. I just had come to see whether she (girl) is safe or not. I have submitted an undertaking at the police station,” said Barik.

Meanwhile, the girl’s family members could not be contacted over the matter.
