Bhubaneswar: With the beginning of the new academic year today, most colleges across Odisha have re-opened, but delay in publication of results of Plus -II Arts, Commerce and professional courses have left students in a quandary.

Due to the delay in publication of results, the Department of Higher Education is also unable to publish notification on admissions into Plus-III courses leading to resentment among students.

“I am not able to get admission into any college due to delay in results,” a Plus-II Science student Ipsita Das said. Arts student Subrat Nayak said, “Our future seems uncertain. Only after getting results, we can apply for admission into a good college.”

While the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has been blaming cyclone Fani and general elections for delay, the parents' association has demanded immediate publication of results.

“Students should not be affected by cyclone Fani and polls. Results should be published soon so that it becomes convenient for them to get admission,” said Prasanna Bisoi, co-chairman of parents’ association.

Deputy examination controller of CHSE, Prasant Das said, “The final results are in the processing stage and will be declared soon.”

Last year, the results of Plus-II Arts and Commerce were published on June 9.
