Late August 2025
Abhijit Majumdar fell ill and was admitted to a private hospital in Cuttack after doctors detected serious health issues including low sodium levels. He was receiving treatment for multiple complications.

September 3–4: Due to deterioration in his condition, Majumdar was shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar. He was placed in the ICU on ventilator support and was reported to be in a coma.
