Abhijit Iyer taken on 4-day judicial remand by Konark Police
Puri: Abhijit Iyer, who was arrested by Odisha Police over his derogatory remarks on Odisha and Konark Sun temple, was taken on a 4-day judicial remand by Konark Police today.
According to sources, Iyer was taken directly to Konark from Jharpada jail after the SDJM court in Bhubaneswar granted permission for remand.
Iyer is likely to be produced before the court in Konark tomorrow, informed sources.
Meanwhile, Iyer’s advocate said “At this point of time our only priority is bail in both the cases. The inconvenience here is that the High Court is not functioning currently, however we have other options as well.”
Iyer was arrested in Delhi by a two-member team of Odisha Police on September 20 on charges of hurting religious sentiments.
