Bhubaneswar: After three long months, a baby boy kidnapped from the Bhubaneswar Railway Station has been rescued from West Bengal.

The Government Railway Police, Bhubaneswar, has rescued the missing boy from Kausalya village of the East Midnapur of West Bengal. The boy, Mohit, was rescued from a woman, identified as Annapurna Mondal. A four-member team of Bhubaneswar railway police has arrested Mondal. Both Mondal and the rescued boy will be produced before the court today.

On February 16 this year, Mohit was abducted from her mother at the Bhubaneswar Railway Station. The boy was abducted from the waiting room of the railway station while her mother, a resident of Kamdia of Nabarangpur was away. During her leave, another passenger whom the baby’s mother met at the Station abducted the boy and took her to Kausalya village in West Bengal’s Midnapur East district. According to the accused, she abducted the child to give it to her sister who was issueless and wanted to gift her the baby boy to alleviate her anxiety.

Investigating the matter, the police have arrested another woman named Sabi and produced her in Court.
