Rourkela: An abandoned new born baby, who was rescued yesterday from Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) campus, died in the hospital today.

The deputy chief medical officer of RGH Subash Kabi said the new born male baby wrapped in a cloth was found lying in the backyard of a partially constructed building and was spotted by a mason. The baby was premature and believed to have been abandoned three to four hours after being born yesterday and was admitted in the RGH, he said.
