Bhubaneswar: BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi targeted Odisha government over its 5T model of governance and said that it is a ‘known fact’ that it’s not an innovative programme.

Speaking during the ‘Khola Katha’ programme of OTV, the Bhubaneswar MP said, “Odisha government’s 5T model of governance is not something new. Different types of 5Ts are in effect in several places. The State government has just taken a rehashed version of it by using five management principles.”

She further said, “5T model has centralised power, which shouldn’t happen, and it is not good for the administrative system of Odisha. I am not opposing 5T, but the process is wrong. Preliminary enquiry should be done and the opportunities of being heard should be created. It should be limited to mere stunts.”

There is much disappointment over the current administrative system and it seems the government is on a ventilator and efforts are being made to revive it with doses of steroids, she added.

Though no comments could be obtained from the ruling-BJD, party's Rajya Sabha member Sasmit Patra had earlier responded to similar allegations of Sarangi and had said, “She seems to be confused over the popularity of the 5T programme and its massive outreach has somewhere become unbearable for her.”

Criticising such a good programme of the Odisha government is unfortunate and such efforts, out of jealousy, should not be made, Patra had said.
