50 arrested in train torching case

Delang: As many as 50 villagers of Sanaguhalipada village of Puri district were arrested for their alleged involvement in ransacking Delang railway station and burning an express train bogey.

A mob, on April 17th, had set a bogey of the Puri-Barbil-Paradip Express on fire and vandalised the station master’s office, along with the ticket counter.

The local people had been demanding a stop of Puri-Barbil-Paradip Express at Delang station, and to press for their demand, they took to violence following the accidental death of a local youth at the railway station on Thursday evening.
