Bhubaneswar: As many as five youths from Odisha were killed and three others sustained critical injuries in a road accident in Dhulagarh area near Kolkata of West Bengal Tuesday late night. All the victims are stated to be residents of Jajpur, Cuttack and Kuansa area of Bhadrak district.

The two among the deceased have been identified as Manoj Mohanty of Cuttack and Digvijay Das of Bhadrak while the identification of the other three are yet to be established.

Meanwhile, the three injured youths have been admitted to Dhulagarh Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.

As per reports, all of them had gone to attend a wedding ceremony in Howrah yesterday and were returning to Odisha in a car when the mishap occurred.

Sources said, the driver lost control of the car near Dhulagarh Toll Gate following which it hit a truck.

A pall of gloom descended Digvijay’s family members after hearing the news of his death. “We received the information at around 8 pm yesterday. I am in deep pain,” said Digvijay’s mother.
