39 Odisha policemen to get Republic Day Police Medals

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: A total of 39 police personnel from Odisha will be awarded with Police Medals on the occasion of Republic Day tomorrow. A total of 855 police personnel from across the country will receive the awards for gallantry, distinguished service and meritorious service.

Among the 39 awardees from Odisha, 26 police officials will be receiving the Police Medals for Gallantry (PMG). This includes Bidyadhar Sethi (SUB), Bishal Bomjan (commando), Dhruba Bahadur Basnet (HAV), Rajendra Malla (commando), Deepak Singh Kunwar (commando), Rajesh Biswakarma (HAV), Sunil Kumar Nanda (ASI), Kamalendu Sarangi (HAV), Madan Kishan (CT), Athnacius Jojo (CT), Mukesh Kumar Brahma (constable), Prateek Singh (SP), Rabindra Sabar (SUB), Ashok Kumar Rath (SUB), Alok Kumar Sethy (HAV), Dhananjay Barad (commando), Krushna Chandra Ping (commando), Santosh Kumar Dhan (commando), Jagannath Kanhar (OAPF), Madhusudan Mallick (CT), Niranjan Sahu (ASP), Keshaba Sisa (HAV), Jitendra Kumar Das (HAV), Sinaya Sekhar Bepari (CT), Urdhaba Chalan (CT) and Kanhu Charan Majhi (CT).

Current deputy SP of Special Intelligence Wing, Gyanaranjan Mohapatra and ACP Asim Kumar Panda will be awarded with President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service.

Moreover, 11 personnel of Odisha Police will receive the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. They are Naba Kishore Das (Commandant 1st Battalion Dhenkanal), Ajaya Kumar Padhi (Deputy Commandant SPG), Ashok Kumar Deo (Deputy SP Special Intelligence Wing), Prafulla Kumar Singh (ACP Security Battalion), Pradyumna Kumar Dwivedy (Incharge Deputy SP Vigilance), Snigdha Bhanja (In-charge Deputy SP EOW), Bikram Keshari Jena (Inspector Khurda), Brahamananda Panda (sub inspector Intelligence Wing), Kailash Chandra Pradhan (Assistant sub-inspector Thelkoloi Police Station Sambalpur), Alexander Kujur (havildar) and Bipra Charan Gouda (constable Vigilance Berhampur).

Three police personnel from across the country have been selected for President’s Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG), while Police Medals for Gallantry (PMG) have been awarded to 146 personnel. In total, 74 personnel will receive President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service while Police Medal for Meritorious Service will be given to 632 personnel.

The three President’s Police Medal for Gallantry have been awarded to CRPF personnel.
