31 antelope horns seized; 8 held

Bargarh: The district police have seized as many as 31 antelope horns and arrested eight persons in this connection.

Sources said acting on a tip-off, a police team yesterday searched a vehicle coming from Debrigada sanctuary, about 80 km from here, and seized 21 antelope horns from their possession. Four persons, including two from Chhattisgarh, travelling in the vehicle were held.

Later, the police raided a house near to the sanctuary and arrested another four persons and seized 10 more antelope horns, the sources added.

Notably, Forest personnel had arrested two poachers from the sanctuary on July 4.
