The mishap took place when two sisters and their brother, accompanied by their cousin, went to the riverbank to take a bath in the morning. While bathing in the river, they reportedly slipped into deep water and were swept away by the strong current. The incident occurred near a shallow stretch that suddenly deepened due to recent water flow changes.

Rescue Operation in Progress

At that time, a boy who was fishing nearby used his presence of mind to rescue two of the siblings, while the other sister is still missing. The fire and rescue team were continuing the search for the missing minor girl. However, the third girl remained untraceable, prompting a full-scale rescue effort by the Odisha Fire and Emergency Services team.
