Sundergarh: As many as four persons killed while more than 30 injured in separate road mishaps in different parts across Odisha on Thursday.

A car carrying five persons rammed into a truck from behind near Anantpur under Salepur block in Cuttack district, killing three including a woman on the spot. Another person succumbed while undergoing treatment whereas the other injured is battling for life at the hospital.

The five persons, identified as residents of Simbalpada area were going towards Cuttack railway station when the mishap occurred.

In another incident, more than 30 passengers were injured when a bus they were travelling in turned turtle near Bhirdapali under Tikayatapali police limits in Sundergarh district today.

As per reports, two of the injured are stated to be critical and were admitted to the Rourkela hospital while others received first-aid at a local hospital.

Though the exact reason behind the accident is not known, a burst in one of the rear tyres of the bus, 'Ganga', en route to Rourkela from Paradip is suspected to have caused the mishap, said sources.
