Bhubaneswar: Three persons were killed and one sustained critical injuries in two separate accidents in the capital city on Wednesday.

According to reports, two persons were killed after a truck hit their bike at Iskcon square here. The two deceased have been identified as Rajendra Sahu and Bramhananda Dalei.

According to sources, the truck hit their bike at the Iskcon square while the duo were returning from Baramunda. After being hit by the truck, the bike lost control and hit a road side electric poll causing their death on the spot.

Following the incident, tension erupted in the area and locals staged a road blockade on the national highway disrupting vehicular movement.

In another incident, a student was killed and his friend was injured after a sand laden truck hit their bike at Hi Tech square. The deceased has been identified as a post graduate student of Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).
