Malkangiri:Three security personnel have been seriously injured during heavy gunbattle with left wing ultras on the Odisha-Chhatisgarh border. Unconfirmed reports said that some ultras too have been wounded during the encounter.

According to reports, a joint combimg party comprising security personnel from Odisha and Chhatisgarh came under heavy firing by the Maoists guerrillas inside the dense forests on Monday evening. The Maoists attacked the combing party from the other side of river Sabarmati. Three security personnel sustained serious injuries during the gunfire. The injured policemen have been admitted to the hospital at Jagadalpur.

Meanwhile, the Maoists have palnted posters and banners at several places in Kalimela. High alert has been clamped on entire Malkangiri district considering the two-day district bandh call given by the ultras. The Maoists have a given a two-day shutdown call from November16.
