Bhubaneswar: In a bid to fill up the vacant seats in all technical colleges, the OJEE has started a second round counseling from today which would continue till July 28. At least 11 nodal centers including eight in Bhubaneswar and others in Cuttack have been opened for the students who can verify their documents and lock choice there.
 
The authorities took such decision to fill up around 29, 000 seats in various disciplines including engineering, MBA, MCA, PGDM and PGCM lying vacant in colleges across the State.
 
On July 12, the OJEE had published provisional list of the engineering counselling which showed that out of the total 45, 677 seats at various engineering colleges in the State, around 16,647 students had locked choice to take admission this year. Later, OJEE planned to conduct a second phase counseling to fill up the vacant seats.
 
On the other hand, medical counselling started on July 22 will be concluded today. The counselling was conducted for 850 MBBS seats, including 100 seats approved for the newly established Sardar Raja Medical College at Jirang near Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district and 150 BDS seats available in the State, OJEE officials said.
 
Notably, all seats (both in MBBS & BDS) at three government run medical colleges, SCB, MKCG and VSS medical college, have been filled up.
