Bhubaneswar: Around 500 media persons and educationists will be engaged in several brain storming sessions during the 2nd National Media Conclave on “Communication for Development” starting tomorrow.

The three-day conclave organised by Bhubaneswar Institute of Media Studies will be inaugurated by Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal in Bhubaneswar.

Over 500 media persons, vice-chancellors of five universities will be attending the conclave which will also see participation of over 100 professors, associated professors and assistant professors from various universities from across the country. 128 research scholars will present their papers during the conclave.

Apart from this, research scholars, policy makers, planners, development experts, elected representatives and media practitioners will hold several sessions to exchange ideas during the Conclave.

On the first day, a plenary session will be organised on the topic titled ‘Political Economy of Development of India’ tomorrow while the theme for the second day is ‘Media Development & Media for Development’.

More than 300 representatives from outside Odisha will take part in the Conclave and put forward their ideas.

Prominent speakers at the Conclave include Prof Ujjwal K Choudhury, Dean, School of Media, Pearl Academy in New Delhi & Mumbai and Dr Nisha Pawar, HoD, Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
