Bhubaneswar: As many as 244 students in Hatadihi Block of Keonjhar district were deprived of High School Certificate (HSC) examination on Monday due to non-receipt of admit cards.

According to the centre superintendent of Mugupur High School, 101 students of Tarabha High School were not issued admit cards for which they could not appear the test.

Similarly, 96 examinees of Brahmanikala HS and 47 of Shiv Narayanpur HS could not sit at their respective Danaar and Banchu examination centres for the test for not having the mandatory admission cards bearing candidate’s photo and roll number.

When asked about the matter, officials said they will enquire on it.

Though it is not clear how the Board will address the travails of these students whose careers run the risk of being endangered by the folly of a few officials.

It is also incomprehensible as to why the authorities of these schools or the parents of the students did not earlier inform the district-level officials about the non-receipt of the admit cards.
