Cuttack: The annual high school certificate (HSC) or the matriculation examination will be held from February 22 to March 8, 2019, informed Board of Secondary Education (BSE) president Jahan Ara Begum today.

Along with matric exams, the examination for State Open School certificate, Madhyama Sanskrit and class 9 vocational examinations will be held simultaneously from February 22 next year.

The major change will be in question papers as there will be four parallel sets of questions in both objective and subjective formats. The students will have to secure minimum 15 marks each in subjective and objective format, informed Begum.

BSE officials informed that the matriculation examination will be held in various examination centres across the state from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, while the students will get extra 15 minutes for the Mathematics subjects.

Though the last date of filling up of application forms is December 13, the deadline has been extended by another two days till December 15th.

“Once all the applications are received, the work on constituting squads, identification of examination centres will begin. This time we will put more stress on smooth conduct of the examination,” said Begum.

Taking stern note of last year’s incident, where question papers were circulated on social media, BSE has decided to strictly warn invigilators not to carry mobile phones into the examination centres. Besides, the proposal of installing CCTV cameras inside examination centers is also being considered.
