2 killed in explosion while preparing firecrackers

Bhubaneswar: At least two persons were killed and another 2 critically injured in an explosion while allegedly preparing firecrackers at Banamalipur Nuasahi on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar today.

Sources said the deceased were a couple and have been identified as Gyanendra Mishra and Laxmipriya Mishra.

Another 2 persons were critically injured in the explosion. All the injured were rushed to Athantara hospital in critical condition, sources added.

The explosion took place in a house where the firecrackers were reportedly being prepared. Following this, a major fire broke out damaging the house completely.

As per the latest reports, a fire brigade unit of Adashpur rushed to the spot after getting information and managed to douse the flames.
