2 BJP workers attacked during Jay Panda’s roadshow

Aul: In yet another incident of political violence, some miscreants allegedly attacked BJP workers during a roadshow of party’s national vice-president and Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda at Juania Chhak in Aul today evening.

Two activists of the saffron party were injured and their vehicle was damaged in the attack. As per the allegations, the attack was carried out by some local BJD workers.

As per reports, five persons attacked the two BJP activists, Trilochana Patra and Alekha Parida, who were a part of the convoy of Jay Panda’s roadshow. As per the allegations of the victims, local sarpanch’s husband along with his supporters carried out the attack.

Though no complaint has been lodged, Police took suo moto cognizance of the matter and have launched a probe, informed sources. However, no arrest or detention have been made by the police yet.

Later Jay Panda took to Twitter and condemned the incident.

Despite repeated attempts, comments from the local BJD leaders could not be obtained.
