Bhubaneswar: The police have arrested two brothers, Jyotiranjan Mohanty and Priyaranjan Mohanty of Nayagarh district for their alleged involvement in the murder of a lady judicial officer Anupama Behera in Balasore.
 
"We have arrested two brothers in connection with the murder of the Odisha Judicial Service (OJS) officer Anupama Behera. Both of them have admitted their crime," said Amrita Dash, SP (Balasore). Love affair was the reason behind this premeditated murder, she added.
 
The SP added Priyaranjan allegedly killed the judicial officer at her official residence at Balasore town on night of March 14 by strangulating her in connivance with his elder brother Jyotiranjan, who allegedly had extra marital affairs with Anupama Behera.
 
The lady officer was working in Balasore as process inspector. Earlier, she was posted as sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) in Bhadrak and transferred to Koraput as sub-judge recently. Sources said Anupama was about to join her new posting on March 25.
 
Irate over the OJS officer's killing, advocates in Balasore and Soro towns boycotted courts demanding immediate arrest of the culprits. The lawyers also threatened to continue the boycott till police arrests the culprits.
