Bhubaneswar: The graduation ceremony of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bhubaneswar was held on May 30 and 31 and on the first day as many as 179 students of both UG and PG batches were awarded degrees.

On the second day of the ceremony, a collection of final designs created by the graduating batch of the Department of Fashion Design was showcased in a fashion show.

Former Secretary of Textiles Ministry, Sanjay Panda was the Chief Guest and Additional Chief Secretary of Odisha, Upendra Behera was the Guest of Honour on the first day of the ceremony. Designer Sabyasachi Satpathy, the celebrated Bollywood designer from Odisha was the Guest of Honour during the fashion show.

“It’s a moment of pride for NIFT, Bhubaneswar to see so many fashion students from across different specializations graduating from its campus. I wish you all the best for your future endeavours.”

The final collection of designs by the students of 3 departments- B.Des (Textile Design), B. Des (Lifestyle Accessory Design) and B. Des (Fashion Communication) were displayed along with presentations by the students of UG BFTech and PG MFM Departments.

Out of 179 graduating students, 37 were from Fashion Designing, 33 Textile Designing, 30 Accessory Designing, 29 Fashion Communication graduates, 23 Fashion Technology graduates while 27 students were given away Masters Degree in Fashion Management.

NIFT is a premier institution under the Ministry of Textiles and its campus in Bhubaneswar was established in 2010.
