A massive 17-foot-long python was rescued from a roadside drain near the Jayaguru Market Complex in Odisha’s Subarnapur town.
The incident took place around midnight, when the snake was spotted attempting to cross the road. However, upon noticing the presence of nearby people, the python retreated into a roadside drain to hide.

Concerned by the unexpected sighting of such a large snake in a populated area, local residents promptly alerted a nearby snake rescue team, which arrived at the scene shortly after and successfully rescued the python from the drain following a careful operation. Fortunately, the python appeared to be unharmed.
After its safe retrieval, the team transported the snake and released it into a nearby forested area, away from human habitation.
The timely response of the locals and rescue team helped ensure the safety of both the animal and the public.
