Nayagarh: A 14-feet-long King Cobra was rescued from a well at Pathara village in Odagaon in the district by a team of forest officials and People for Animal (PFA) on Thursday morning.

According to sources, some villagers found the longest venomous reptile in an abandoned well near a piece of agricultural land and informed forest officials and PFA about it.

On being informed about the incident, the officials of forest department and the social organisation rushed to the spot and rescued the snake. The snake was then released into a nearby forest.

People in large number surrounded the abandoned well to see the rescue operation.
