Bhubaneswar: With an aim to stop forceful collection of donation for puja celebrations, the Director General of Police B.K Sharma has instructed all concerned officials to take stringent action against the persons who are involved in such practice.

According to sources, as many as 13 persons have been arrested in connection with five cases of forceful collection of donations across four districts of Odisha. While one person was been arrested in Bhubaneswar, seven persons have been arrested by Chandili Police in Rayagada, four persons by Hemagiri Police in Sundergarh and one person has been arrested in Dhenkanal's Kamakshyanagar.

In the ongoing puja season till Bali Yatra, all the Superintendents of Police have been directed to keep a check on such incidents.
