12-hour bandh observed in Sundargarh

Rourkela: A 12-hour bandh was observed today at the district headquarter town of Sundargarh to protest the rape incident at Pipli in Puri district and in Rajgangpur in Sundargarh district. The bandh call was given by Sundargarh district Youth Congress.

The shops, business establishments, schools, colleges and banks remain closed while government office remained opened during the bandh. Police said, bandh was peaceful and there was no untoward incident. Around 40 youth Congress activists including youth congress district president Siri Nayar and student congress president Asish Pasayat were taken into preventive custody.
