Cuttack: Healthcare services have been affected at Salepur after the only 108 ambulance under theSalepur community health centre (CHC) met with an accident four days ago.

According to sources, the only 108 ambulance met with an accident at Sishua on Cuttack-Chandabali road last week disrupting the emergency service at the CHC. Though the ambulance staffers have alerted the higher authorities regarding the accident of the ambulance, no action has been taken yet, said sources.

"We have alerted the control room after the ambulance met with the accident. As I sustained head injuries, I have taken leave; and so, I have no idea regarding the actions being taken by the concerned authorities," said Ranjan Sahu, a staff of the ill-fated ambulance.

“The emergency vehicle is yet to be repaired. The ambulance transports patients to Cuttack medical but now patients in need are suffering due to the lackadaisical attitude of the hospital authority,” alleged a local resident,Jayiram Behera.

The story will be updated further, once the officials concerned (who are yet to reply) respond to the allegations.
